Gretchen is a gentle, loving soul estimated to be 7-10 years old, who has endured many hardships but continues to shine with love. Rescued as a stray, she came to us in poor health—suffering from multiple tumors, ear infections, a rough coat, no tail, and callouses from sleeping on hard ground. Despite her challenges, she has made incredible progress, and her health is improving with supplements and medicated baths. Now thriving in a foster home, Gretchen is house-trained, doggy door trained, and enjoys daily walks, showing off her charming “hound dog” howl when she’s excited. While she’s great with kids and other dogs, Gretchen would thrive as the only dog in the home, where she can receive all the love and attention she deserves. As a hound mix, she has a prey drive, so a leash or fenced yard is essential. Gretchen’s foster describes her as easygoing, well-behaved, and the perfect companion for someone looking for a loving, low-maintenance dog. She enjoys her morning walks, and though she’s older and somewhat sedentary, she is still full of life and love. If you’re looking to give a sweet, deserving dog a comfortable home for her golden years, Gretchen is the perfect match.
We promised Gretchen that the rest of her life, would be the best of her life. Could that be with you?
