This beautiful girl is Birdie, a 2 year old foxhound mix who came into our care heavily pregnant and ready to pop. She had 9 adorable puppies who are now weaned and adoptable as well! Birdie is thriving in foster, here's what they have to say:
"Birdie has done really well in our home in many ways. She quickly adjusted to our busy house, she gets along well with everyone, the cats, the dogs, and the kids! She has a very, very sweet demeanor, she is a snuggler, she’s starting to play with our other dogs now that she’s done nursing, and she wants to be apart of what’s happening all the time. She has great qualities, she recalls pretty well, she does well in the crate, she is not a barker. Birdie needs some basic manners, she likes to jump up with her paws on the counters but will get down immediately when told no, she is very food driven, but has not demonstrated any food aggression at all. She lets the cats nibble from her bowl while she’s eating. She is beautiful with a shiny and soft coat, she’s about 45 pounds, which is a good weight for her. She’s still got a big appetite from all these weeks of nursing, so we are working on pairing it down to her new nutritional needs. Being so food driven, I think she would do incredible with a bit of training. Her house training has improved loads, we are down to about an accident a day. Now that she can focus on healing and taking care of herself, I believe she will continue to improve quickly. She is medium energy, but loves her naps, she would do best with a yard to stretch her long legs. She hasn’t had any destructive behaviors at all. She would make a great dog for any family and would thrive with a little bit of support."
We promised Birdie that the rest of her life, would be the best of her life. Could that be with you?
